Marc Mannes, PhD, is the Associate Director of the National Center. He has held diverse leadership positions in government, the academy, the non-profit, and the for-profit management consulting sectors. His roles have included Chief Executive Officer of the International Center for Research and Innovation in Fostering, Senior Associate and Chicago Office Lead for Booz Allen Hamilton, Director of Applied Research at Search Institute, Executive Director of the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice, and Federal Programs Director at Rough Rock Demonstration School on Navajo Nation. Over the course of his career he has regularly managed complex national initiatives and evaluations. His expertise encompasses the areas of child welfare policy and program design and implementation, applied research, training and technical assistance, organizational and community capacity-building, and product development. He has worked extensively with research to practice theory, approaches and strategies. He has published on topics such as child welfare system reform and Indian Child Welfare, and has also delivered national and international speeches on the intersection of human, organizational and community development.
